ASHLEY WALDROP
MPAS, PA - C, IBCLC

Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma but raised in Texas, Ashley's start in healthcare began in her home state with a bachelor's degree in nutrition / pre-med from Oklahoma State University.  In 2015 she earned her master's degree in PA studies from University of North Texas and became licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a physician assistant.  She specializes in newborn care and lactation support, but with two young children of her own, she easily empathizes with parental concerns.  "My oldest was born at 32 weeks and spent one month in the NICU," she states, "and my youngest was admitted with RSV at six-months-old.  I have a deep passion for taking care of children, and would feel privileged to provide medical care to yours!"

Michelle’s career as a nurse began in her hometown of Corpus Christi, where she attended Del Mar College and received her associate’s degree in nursing.  She would go on to earn her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Texas at Arlington, which started her career in primary care.  Prior to joining First Step Pediatrics, Michelle worked in neuro intensive care, as well as oncology. She is fluent in Spanish, and is licensed by both the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners along with the Texas Board of Nursing.  As a mother herself, Michelle personally identifies with the worry parents go through regarding their children’s health, which has developed her deep heart for treating our youngest population.

CALEEN CAVITT  MSN, RN, FNP - C
Since completing her first healthcare-related degree in 2009, Caleen just celebrated her first decade in taking care of patients with a move to primary care at First Step Pediatrics.  She achieved both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing, and is certified by the AANP as a family nurse practitioner.  Caleen says the majority of her experience has been in the labor and delivery department and the neonatal ICU, so the condition of newborns is her joy and specialty; however, she welcomes any concern that may bring your child into her care.  Caleen has lived in Fort Worth since 2009, and spends her free time raising two school-aged daughters alongside her husband.
